About Us

IT Consulting Since 2009

Signal IT Consulting, Inc. was founded on January 21, 2009, originally as Complete SMB Solutions, Inc. Our initial mission statement was: “To provide enterprise level IT services to small to medium sized businesses.” Very quickly we found that small to medium sized businesses (SMB) did not have the same needs as enterprise companies, so we began focusing on how to best serve only the SMB space.

In 2014, our office building was flooded by a flash thunderstorm and the power had to be shut off for a period of time. Several of our clients were in the same building as ours, so our first priority was to restore their networks in alternative locations. After the clients were back in operation, we worked on restoring our own network. To avoid having this issue occur again, we developed plans to move our IT infrastructure to operate only in the cloud. This was the catalyst that started our journey into specializing in providing our Cloud First, Cloud Only services.

In 2017, we identified that we needed to be available to our clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to better serve them. We partnered up with a premier 100% North American based help desk service. The addition of this partnership has helped us to be able to grow, and serve our clients regardless of when and where they are working.

Over the past 12 years, we have worked with small businesses all over the country (and several users in other countries) to provide what we call the Signal IT Consulting Difference.

The company name was changed in 2015 from Complete SMB Solutions, Inc. to Signal IT Consulting, Inc. to pay homage to our founder’s start to his career in the Army Signal Corps.

Joshua Chamness


Josh has been in the IT industry for 20+ years and has worked in multiple specialties. He is a Veteran of the Illinois Army National Guard, where he got his first experience in communications. He currently lives in the suburban Chicago area with his beautiful wife and 4 children. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, baseball, football, and hockey.
